Writing as Salvation: a Story worth Telling (Yours)
with Barbara Martini
THIS EVENT IS OFFERED IN ITALIAN AND ENGLISH
Accessing one’s intimate and internal world only through a blank page and a pen might sound impossible at first but this is an alchemic process that often works spontaneously, in a silent, deep, and effective way. It resembles a silent river that streams through the hills of our growth, so rich and painful at the same time.
To tell a story means, after all, living it. And by living we tell our story.
If you could be a story, which one would you like to be? And if someone would tell you that you could start changing the character of your story, becoming another character, performing other actions, how would that make you feel? What is the thing that you’d like to talk the most about?
This workshop will explore the importance of one’s biography and the self-description that we give to ourselves, through guided meditations, tales and the extraordinary tool of writing, used in all its diverse peculiar aspects - remembering our contact with a higher power, where the light of hope resides.

“To live a reality immersed in the sacred is for many people an abstract thought, something only perceivable beyond ordinary life, a blurry place halfway between “interesting” and “unexplainable”, something hard to obtain, contain, express. But this force pulling us up represents us since the dawn of time, it defines us, moves us towards new horizons, towards the adventures that we create and build through our daily decisions, wish after wish, wound after wound. Love after love.
This is what I want to talk about: the thread that can enable us to overcome any fear and bring us above what we already know through simplicity: an encounter, a word, a look, an emphatic presence sometimes becoming a touch that can caress our essence - our most “sacred” part, even when we don’t notice. If this contact happens, if the alchemy happens, then something wakes up and it begins to tell a story, it begins to tell us how we should live to allow ourselves the space to welcome that feeling again and again. For ourselves, the other, for the world as we know it. For that sacred passage from a heart to another heart.
That’s where we really begin the journey, a delicate and strong journey towards the temple of our truth.”
